Armenia – The Homeland of Ancient Winemaking

DAY 2

Tour to Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery, master class of Lavash,  the traditional Armenian bread 

Garni is considered to be the influence of Greek architecture in Armenia, it is important to know that it was built 2,000 years ago and was a summer residence of Armenian kings.

Geghard Monastery is one of the most beautiful buildings in the early Christian era.

DAY 3

Tour to Echmiadzin , Mother Cathedral , Gayane Church, Zvartnots

There are 5 churches in Etchmiadzin. Considering the small size of the city from this point of view, it may be surprising. But do not forget that Etchmiadzin is considered to be the spiritual center of Armenia, where the Mother Cathedral is located. During our tour we will visit the Mother Cathedral, Gayane Church and in our return to Yerevan will visit Zvartnots Temple. There was a time when it was a circular temple, one of the masterpieces of Armenian architecture. Unfortunately, the temple has not been preserved during centuries past.

Aragatsotn region takes its name from the highest mountain in Armenia, Mount Aragats. It is one of the most actively developing tourist regions, where the Myler ski resort was built in recent years, which has caused a great stir in tourism.

Our first stops during the tour will be the 13th century Saghmosavank and Hovhannavank monasteries. Both overlook the breathtaking Kasagh River gorge, creating a stunning harmony between medieval architecture and dramatic nature.

Then we will visit the Voskewaz Winery for the much-awaited wine tasting.This is  a family-owned gem in the Aragatsotn region of Armenia. The name "Voskevaz," meaning "golden bunch" in Armenian,

And at the end of the day we will visit the city of Etchmiadzin, where the Mother Cathedral of Armenia is located. Many historians consider it the first Christian church built in the world.

DAY 3: Monasteries & the Cradle of Armenian Wine  

Today we will  travel to southern Armenia.Our first stop is the spectacular Noravank Monastery , surrounded by dramatic red rock cliffs. Its medieval architecture blends harmoniously with the mountainous landscape, making it one of Armenia’s most picturesque sites.

Then  we will continue to the village, the cradle of Armenian winemaking. The village is named after the endemic Areni grape variety, cultivated for thousands of years.

Here we visit a local winery, learn about the ancient history of Armenian viticulture, and enjoy a wine tasting experience.

DAY 4:  A 2800 years old modern city Yerevan. City  tour in  Yerevan.

Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, it started as a tiny settlement on the banks of river Hrazdan more than 2800 years ago. But modern Yerevan is more than a city with an ancient culture. It is presented to tourists with its warm atmosphere, delicious cuisine, numerous springs of drinking water, the nice models of modern art, etc.

During our city tour we will visit the most important museum of Yerevan- History Museum of Armenia, where you can feel and see the unique culture of a country with a history of thousands of years. We will also visit the legendary Ararat Brandy Factory in Yerevan, learn about the history of Armenian viticulture and taste different types of brandy.
