We then continue to explore the cultural treasures surrounding Dilijan, visiting two remarkable medieval monastery complexes:
- Haghartsin Monastery – Nestled deep within forested mountains, this 10th–13th century monastic complex is considered a masterpiece of Armenian architecture. Its harmonious integration with nature creates a truly serene atmosphere.
- Goshavank Monastery – Founded in the 12th century by the scholar Mkhitar Gosh, this historic complex is famous for its intricate khachkars (cross-stones) and its important role as a medieval educational center.
