ONE DAY TOUR TO JERMUK, NORAVANK, ARENI, KHOR VIRAP
Jermuk is located in Vayots Dzor Province and is one of the highest-altitude inhabited areas in Armenia. Residents of Yerevan usually consider July and August the best months to visit Jermuk. In the evening, when people go out for a walk, Jermuk is being filled with the breath of people from Yerevan and other people which came to visit Jermuk. What else one needs to be happier: fresh air, coldness during the hot summers and the pleasant companionship of people. You can see and feel all of this in Jermuk.
Noravank Monastery , surrounded by dramatic red rock cliffs. Its medieval architecture blends harmoniously with the mountainous landscape, making it one of Armenia’s most picturesque sites.
Then we will continue to the village, the cradle of Armenian winemaking. The village is named after the endemic Areni grape variety, cultivated for thousands of years.
Here we visit a local winery, learn about the ancient history of Armenian viticulture, and enjoy a wine tasting experience.
We will also visit the famous Khor Virap Monastery, which is connected with the adoption of Christianity in Armenia and is one of the closest points to Mount Ararat.
